The history of the Pangbourne Silver Band dates back to 1893 when it consisted of fifes and drums. It used to rehearse in a shed behind Mr. Percy Stone's water mill, and although Percy Stone himself is no longer with us, his business still thrives in the village and his son Richard remains a keen supporter of the Band.
Meeting weekly on Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 4.00pm at Pangbourne Village Hall. New Members will be made most welcome, just come along on a Wednesday and meet everyone!!!
Pangbourne Choral Society was formed in 1973 and therefore recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary. Its 100 members meet once a week on Tuesday evenings in term time at Pangbourne College, Pangbourne, near Reading.
The Society welcomes keen singers, young & old, and the more easily embarrassed amongst you will be glad to hear that newcomers are not submitted to an audition.
